Meet Holly & The Gang

Hello friends! My name is Holly, and I'm one of Mommy's dogs furbabies. Some of you know me, but I know Mommy has some new readers on her new blog. I thought it was time I introduced you to the gang and me.

Everyone thinks I have an unusual look and always wants to know what breed I am. Most people think I'm a papillon, some think I'm some sort of weird mixed breed, then there was this silly guy at the pet store who insisted I was a Jack Russel terrier, but Mommy said he does not know dogs. What I am is a long coat chihuahua.

I am 3 years old with long, beautiful fur. I didn't always look like this because I was darker and had shorter hair when I was a baby. Back then, I played a little trick on Mommy.......

That's me as a baby. Wow, age really does change a doggie's appearance. Look how black I used to be! I'm almost all brown and white now.

See, she wanted a tri colored chihuahua so I made myself look like I had a lot of dark on me so she would want to take me home. Then I was cute and funny, and she immediately fell in love with me. A week later, I knew I wasn't going anywhere, so I started letting her see that I'm really a little brown and white girl. Over time, I've lost almost all my dark hair except for on my ears and a little on my back. But don't worry, Mommy tells me every day that she forgives me for tricking her, and she loves me no matter what color I am.

Please be a good friend to me and tell Mommy how ridiculous this looks!

Just so you know, I am THE QUEEN of my house, but there are 3 other dogs who live with me. Let me introduce them to you.

Hail to Queen Holly.

This is my best friend Missy. She's a poodle who originally lived with Mommy's grandmother. However, when her grandmother past away last year, Missy came to live with us. She and I have had a lot of fun playing with each other ever since.

This is how my friend Missy looked when she came to live with us, but she has a different look now......

Poor Missy started feeling sick in December and even started biting Mommy and the rest of the family. She didn't even want to play with me. She would barely let anyone touch her, so she hasn't been groomed in a long time. That explains her new look.

Here she is on one of her really sick days.

When she went to the veterinarian, he said she has a liver that is way too small for her body and apparently has some back problems.

Healthier, happier, and on the mend.

We were all really concerned about her health for a while, but after a few rounds of medicine, she seems to be feeling a lot better. I know several of you have asked Mommy how we are doing, and she told you about Missy. Thanks for your kind thoughts and concerns about her.

This is Jessie.

Now it's time for you to meet Jessie and Lily. They have been in the family forever. Mommy got them 10 years ago when they were litter mates. Their mother doggy couldn't take care of them, so Mommy started bottle feeding them when they were 2 1/2 weeks old. They are now 10 year old senior dogs.

That's Lily. She's always been terrified of the camera for some reason, so you won't see her around too much.

Boy are they lazy! Although Missy and I love to chase them around the house, Jessie and Lily prefer to lie around and chew on their bones. We don't have a lot to do with them since they are so boring. They are also quite camera shy, so I don't know if you'll be seeing them quite as much as me.

Do it MY way.....or else! When they don't do things MY way, I give them the evil eye!

Mommy told me some of you long time readers have missed Paws and Claws Pet Day and all the dog stories, recipes, and pet crafts we used to do. The other dogs and I have decided we will start sharing those again once or twice every month. Be on the lookout for us because we'll be having some Valentine's Day posts soon!

It's so nice to see some old friends, and I'm excited to be making some new ones. Talk to you again soon!

Hi, Shannon! Your furry family are all so cute! I think Holly's the cutest, though, but that may be because I own 2 Chihuahuas, too! One long and one short haired. You posted no links, but I wanted to let you know that I just posted photos awhile back about my fur-babies, too. If you go to my blot (Cairn Cottage) and go down on the right bar under a list "What I Write About" you'll see their pic. Just click on it.
Thanks for sharing!

Well Miss Molly, you sound like you run the house. As most small dogs do. I have a chi also. Only she has short hair. Would love to have a long hair mate. But with 2 other dogs in the family that wont happen for some time. I think I'll be back to find out more og your adventures. Have a beautiful day and look for some sunshine to take a nap in.

I am so glad I got to see this post! Your four-legged family members are just adorable! A few lifetimes ago, I lived in a condo that overlooked a grassy courtyard. Every Saturday, a young couple would play with their dog there. I just fell in love with that dog, which turned out to be a long haired chihuahua. I think they are just precious! You have inspired me to introduce my brood also! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
