Super Bowl Buffet

Forgive me football fans, but I am not one of you. I am more of a Puppy Bowl fan. The enjoyable part of Super Bowl weekend for me is preparing snacks and deserts for everyone and setting a casual buffet for some munchies.

This week, my posts have featured some of the foods I like to serve on game day.  Now I wanted to show you how I put them together to make a casual buffet. We don't do "fancy" for our get togethers. Colorful plastic plates, cups, utensils, and serving bowls are pretty, inexpensive, and very convenient. The best part is they make clean up a breeze.

I put together a basket of rustic bread for sandwiches....

so everyone can choose the type of bread......

.......and fixings for sandwiches.

I also serve Southern Fried Chicken Drumsticks, Mighty Meatballs, and crunchy veggies in a simple wooden bowl with dip.

My Baked Italian Wontons are in a plastic football shaped serving bowl with a little bowl of pasta sauce for dipping.

A bowl of chips are always popular at any party.....

.....especially when served with a variety of dips.

My Black Bean and Corn Salsa is always a favorite and has been pinned many times this week. (Thank you!)

One of my favorites is hummus with chips or veggies. I took the easy way out and bought it at my local market a few days ago.

However, I did make some homemade pimento cheese that can be used as a dip for the chips or a spread for the bread.

I'm sure my crowd will enjoy munching on some Roasted Chili Lime Nuts throughout the game.

Then we can finish off the night with some Sugar Free Touchdown Cakes.

I decorated the table with lots of fun football things like tiny footballs, pom poms, a large football serving tray propped up on a stand.....

.....and some white mums in a homemade football vase. You can easily make one of these with a large spaghetti sauce can wrapped in football scrapbook paper.

My family has already been sampling the food, so I hope there will be enough left for game day. You may notice the Baked Corn Tortilla Chips and the Chocolate Touchdown Cakes are not shown because the sampling got a little out of hand!

My brother hosts a Super Bowl party for his friends each year and has a Chili Buffet. He and a few friends each prepare a different kind of chili, the other guys bring the fixings, and the women bring the desserts.

If you would like some ideas for having your own chili Buffet, check out my Chili Buffet Featuring My Butternut Squash Chili, which won second place in Miz Helen's Chili Cookoff last year.

Do you celebrate Super Bowl Sunday?

I love football...I guess it's from raising four sons and living in Texas! lol I'm a big Dallas Cowboy fan. These snacks all look good. I wish I had tried one of your recipes for my birthday. It felt odd not to have a cake for my birthday...odd as in not good! haha! Sweet hugs!

Hi Shannon. The Captain was just asking me what was for fixins for watching the game, so I will take some of your ideas. Not quite as fancy though as it's only the two of us, well, the one of us, I'm like you, not much of a football fan. I will run in from whatever I'm doing though, to watch the commercials..Happy Thursday..Judy

Haha it sounds like we are pretty similar. I "enjoy" football... but really I just enjoy all of the people coming over and all of the food we get to eat :) That's the best part in my opinion.

I'm with you! I'm way more into the party and football festivities than anything else... based on that, and your amazing snack table, it looks to me like you're heading towards a great game day! -Patti

You really put me to shame! All I do is make a special dip that my husband likes. I am sure that he would rather watch the game at your house - lol!! Love that triple dip server - how cute!

Very cute! Now this is what my boys would call a party. I have seen a couple of over the top Super Bowl tables that I don't think the guys around here would even feel comfortable at, yours however they would love! It all looks great.

You're one step above me! We don't watch football here - don't even have cable! You did an amazing job - this looks like a perfect Super Bowl party spread! I appreciate you sharing with Home and Garden Thursday,
